New Policy Supports Homeless Populations with Chronic Illnesses
The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid have changed their policies to allow states to use money from Medicaid waivers to provide sustainable housing for the chronically ill and homeless. The policy is based on the assumption that providing affordable housing is the first step to promoting healthy lifestyles among those suffering from chronic illnesses while experiencing homelessness.
