TCNJ Students Update Political Website for Trenton Residents

"[T]his fall, some TCNJ students have learned a lot about Trenton politics by helping Trenton-based Beautiful Trenton, a grassroots coalition of city residents, spread the word about local issues and candidates in the mayoral and council election to be held May 6", writes Times of Trenton reporter Jenna Rose.

"The students are enrolled in the course Introduction to Interactive Multimedia, which is popular among students in journalism and professional writing, interactive multimedia, and other majors. Beautiful Trenton has a website on elections, candidates and political issues, but it is out-of-date, with references to the 2010 election."

"With much at stake — the city has a mayor under indictment, a police department overwhelmed by rampant crime, an overstretched budget and widespread poverty — the students are working to create a new website for Beautiful Trenton."
