Rutgers Receives Federal Grant For Homeland Security Studies Program

Rutgers University has been awarded a $1.95 million federal grant to fund its newly established department of homeland security studies.

Rutgers is among eight universities to receive the Defense Intelligence Agency grant, which will fund the design of intelligence-related student training programs.

"By drawing upon expertise ranging from mathematics and engineering to criminal justice, medicine and law, the Institute for Emergency Preparedness and Homeland Security is undertaking precisely the kind of collaborative and interdisciplinary work envisioned in the university's strategic plan," said Rutgers University President Robert Barchi.
