NJ Transit Recommends Ending Bus Service Between Princeton, Plainsboro Hospital

"NJ Transit is recommending bus service between Princeton and the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro be discontinued due to low ridership," as reported by Nicole Mulvaney of the Times of Trenton.

"Though NJ Transit identified more than $40 million in savings by reducing overtime and other expenses, the agency still faces about a $60 million budget gap for the 2016 fiscal year, officials announced Monday. Fare and service adjustments are being proposed across the state as a result."

"Hospital officials said they are prepared to continue subsidizing the bus service if the decision is made to keep it. Other transportation options include another N.J. Transit bus, one from Middlesex County and Princeton University's Tiger Transit."
