New Brunswick City Council Approves $608,593 for new Homeless
Housing Facility
The 2-story, 10-unit building will provide housing to recently homeless individuals and provide them with support services to prevent a reoccurrence of their homelessness. Pursuant to the county’s Plan to End Homelessness in 10 Years, this facility uses the Housing First concept to address the needs of homeless individuals. This strategy views homelessness as a symptom of other issues. The goal of Housing First is to provide the homeless with immediate housing and then provide them the services they need to address the causes of their homelessness.
