The Newark People's Organization For Progress Sponsors Forum with Amina Baraka and Cornel West

"The People's Organization For Progress (POP), a grass roots organization in Newark, is hosting two forums this month that cover a number of issues, including black history, police brutality and racial injustice."

"Cornel West, an activist and intellectual will discuss several social issues on April 13 with Larry Hamm, chariman of the People's Organization For Progress.They will be at Bethany Baptist Church in Newark. Amina Baraka, a writer and activist, who is the mother of Mayor Ras Baraka and widow of the late playwright-activist Amiri Baraka, will be a guest speaker Thursday at the organization's 6 p.m. meeting at Abyssinian Baptist Church in Newark. Her topic is "Revolution, Black History, and Women." The church is located at 224 W. Kinney Street. "
