Toys for Tots in Tullahoma

"With Christmas less than two months away, the Tullahoma Fire Department is gearing up for its annual Toys for Tots giveaway to assist needy families in the Tullahoma area."

"The fire department will post a sign-up sheet for parents who wish to receive toys for their children under the age of 14 between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3 at C.D. Stamps Community Center, located at 810 S. Jackson St."

“There will be no late sign-ups. Parents registering their children for free Christmas toys must first provide proof of Tullahoma residency, valid ID and show a birth certificate or Social Security card for each child registered.”

"The Tullahoma Fire Department is in immediate need of toys and monetary donations for the campaign, as the department will soon begin assembling packages for local children. Area families, individuals and businesses can contribute to the cause in two ways."

"The department is collecting new, unwrapped toys for boys and girls ages 1 to 14. While toy donations will be gladly accepted, Shasteen said the department would prefer monetary gifts. Shasteen said firefighters are able to stretch the Toys for Tots dollars a little farther than individual shoppers can because the program is tax-exempt, and many local stores give a discount on toys purchased for the program."

"New, unwrapped toys or monetary donations may be dropped off at C.D. Stamps Community Center."

"Donations are currently being accepted and will continue to be accepted until Dec. 16. Monetary donations may also be made by mail, and made payable to TFD Toys for Tots, PO Box 807, Tullahoma, TN 37388."

"For more information, contact the Tullahoma Fire Department at 931-455-0936."
